Christine Spadola, a CRUSADA / C-SALUD PhD Student Scholar in Health Disparities, recently participated in the National Hispanic Science Network on Drug Abuse 2013 Conference (NHSN) in Bethesda, Maryland. Ms. Spadola discussed and exhibited her research in an oral presentation and a poster presentation.

  • The poster was titled “Alcohol Use among Weight Loss Surgery Patients.” 
  • The presentation was titled “Post-operative Alcohol Use, Depression, and Anxiety among Hispanic/Latino Young Adult Bariatric Patients.”

Ms. Spadola’s research interests include racial and ethnic disparities in physical and mental health, obesity and obesity surgery, substance use and abuse, health psychology, grief and loss.
